130-Acre Working Ranch Protected

DLC recently accepted a new conservation easement on a 130-acre working ranch in the Rampart Range area of western Douglas County. This property borders another private ranch already protected by a conservation easement and is near the Pike National Forest.

One of the wonderful things about protecting open spaces through conservation easements is that is an entirely voluntary way for private land owners to preserve the natural character of their property without having to give up their ranch or home. We all benefit when land owners agree to donate conservation easements.
