June 26 - July 31
Douglas Land Conservancy is pleased to announce that our 2020 “Capturing the Beauty of Open Land” art exhibit and sale is going virtual this year and runs from
June 26th through July 31st.
Due to COVID-19, rather than cancelling the event we are providing an alternative that keeps everyone safe, yet continues to offer a way for artists to display their works for the public to view and purchase.
Or for additional questions about the pieces for sale, contact the DLC office at (303) 688-8025 or email [email protected]
Checks, or credit cards accepted. All art pieces are subject to sales tax and shipping charges may apply. (some paintings may be available for pick-up at the DLC office, in Castle Rock)
“Capturing the Beauty of Open Land” serves as an annual fundraiser for Douglas Land Conservancy, a 501(c)3 nonprofit land trust. A portion of the proceeds from the art sales will support the continued efforts of Douglas Land Conservancy to protect open space.
Developed in the mid-19th century, plein air painting is executed outdoors and represents an artist’s direct response to the scene in front of him or her. This form of painting is characterized by the luminous effects of natural light, with an airy, natural tone versus the artificial light that can be associated with paintings produced in a studio. Literally meaning “open air,” plein air was developed among French impressionists including Monet, Pissarro, and Renoir.
