Friday Pop-up Hike with Douglas Land Conservancy
March 9, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join Douglas Land Conservancy for a Guided Friday Morning Hike as we enjoy the beautiful weather predicted for late winter.
The hike is 4.5 miles long and rated moderately easy. From the trail head, we will take the Palmer Divide Ranch Trail, lower loop that incorporates a variety of terrain from wide open prairie to slower-paced technical rock sections, winding through Gambel oak and Ponderosa pine.
Lincoln Mountain Open Space Highlights: The 876-acre Lincoln Mountain Open Space is located along the upper reaches of West Cherry Creek with meadows and rolling grasslands that are backed up by forested rocky cliffs and the taller mesa of Lincoln Mountain. Miles of trails are open to the public for hiking, horseback and mountain biking. The hike is free, but a $10 per person donation to Douglas Land Conservancy is suggested. You may donate online here or in person on the day of the hike. Space is limited.
