Guided Winter Hike at Dawson Butte Open Space

January 31, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join us in the great outdoors for Douglas Land Conservancy’s first hike of 2016.  We will enjoy a guided, brisk winter hike at Dawson Butte Ranch Open Space.

This beautiful 828-acre property is protected by a conservation easement held by Douglas Land Conservancy and home to a variety of native animal and plant species, Ponderosa pine forest and lovely meadows. Located just five miles south of Castle Rock, Dawson Butte offers several trails that are easy to moderate in difficulty, and offer stunning views of Dawson Butte, Devil’s Head and Pike’s Peak.

If there is a significant amount of snowfall before the 31st we will consider a snowshoe event. The week of the hike, DLC staff will notifying registrants with more details..

This is a family-friendly event on a gently-rolling trail. Please bring water and be prepared for changing weather. Dogs on leash are welcome to join the fun.

Space is limited. Hike if free, but a $10 per person
donation to DLC is suggested. RSVP for this Hike
