Community Outreach and Events Coordinator

 

Do you enjoy planning events, socializing, and the outdoors? If yes, then you could be Douglas Land Conservancy’s next Community Outreach and Events Coordinator! DLC is seeking an energetic, dedicated professional to lead our community outreach and event endeavors. Based in Castle Rock, Colorado, since 1987, Douglas Land Conservancy is a nonpartisan, nonprofit land trust dedicated to the protection and conservation of open space in the Front Range region of Colorado.  DLC holds conservation easements protecting both public and private lands, including agricultural and ranch lands, public recreation open spaces, scenic viewscapes, critical wildlife habitat and wetlands.  Appreciation of the land and its natural beauty is a shared community value for DLC and the region. Through active involvement in the community, education, and outreach, DLC continues to advance conservation.  The opportunities we provide expand appreciation of the outdoors and improve the quality of life for members of the local community. Our robust programs include outdoor hikes, educational opportunities, and community outreach events.

 

Specific Responsibilities

The Community Outreach and Events Coordinator reports to the Advancement Director and the Executive Director and is responsible for providing high-level and in-depth support for all outreach and engagement programs. Works closely with other staff and the community to recommend, develop, and implement organizational outreach programs and events.

  • Collaborates with local, State and Federal agencies to conduct quality educational programs that further the goals of DLC’s strategic plan
  • Responsibility for DLC’s outreach emails, newsletters, and some social media
  • Assists with event marketing and fundraising activities
  • Manages DLC volunteer training, programs, and database with the Director of Advancement
  • Assists with website content and updating
  • Occasionally works after hours and on weekends as required to conduct or assist with outreach and events
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Event coordination or programs coordination experience
  • Proficient in Windows OS, Microsoft Office365, Adobe
  • Preferable experience with Salesforce, Assana, Eventbrite, CRMs, Constant Contact or MailChimp, WordPress or Elementor
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and be willing to work independently towards deadlines
  • Ease with technology a plus

Compensation

The budgeted salary range for this position is $45,000 – $50,000, commensurate with skills, years of experience, location and unique background and qualifications of the candidate.
