Join DLC for a moderate hike on a privately-owned property! No dogs will be allowed. Participants should be in good physical condition and capable of hiking uphill and off-trail, since this is a 2+ hour hike that is not on an established trail system.
The address of the property will be sent via email to registrants prior to the event, along with other detailed instructions, so please look for that two days before the hike! The gate will open at 9:00 am- you must arrive by 9:30 am to participate!! Wear long pants, good hiking boots, poles if desired, water, snacks, and a picnic lunch to eat after the hike.

Douglas Land Conservancy has held a Conservation Easement on the historic 1,500 acre Ditmars Ranch since 2020. It is a beautiful, privately-owned ranch in Douglas County, located at the south edge of Castle Rock (immediately north of the JA Ranch and east of I-25). The property is an active cattle ranch, and although it is not open to the public, the ranch owner has agreed–and the Conservation Easement stipulates–that DLC can hold up to four events on the property each year.
