UNDER A WILD SKY

2026 Under a Wild Sky Fundraiser

Saturday, August 29, 2026 | Maytag Ranch, Larkspur, CO

Saddle up, Under a Wild Sky is back! Douglas Land Conservancy’s annual fundraiser is heading to the wide-open beauty of the DLC conserved Maytag Ranch, and it’s going to be an evening to remember. Set back against the mesa where sweeping vistas, pristine wildlife habitat, and historic landscapes stretch to the horizon, this is more than a party: it’s a chance to stand on the land we’re working together to protect, and to celebrate our work in true Western style. Every ticket supports the stewardship of the places that define our community. Dust off your boots, grab your hat, and stay tuned as we tease new details each month!

Tickets go on sale July 1, priced at $175 a person. Set a reminder for July 1 now so you can snag them before they sell out. Appetizers, dinner, dessert, wine, beer, and various non-alcoholic drinks, as well as the best rootin’ tootin’ party you’ve ever attended, all included!

Theme: RETRO COWBOY

Step back in time and saddle up for an unforgettable evening! This year’s Under a Wild Sky gala rides into the past with a bold Retro Cowboy theme, where vintage western charm meets classic flair. Dress in your finest throwback western style and join us for a night of nostalgia, style, and purpose. Let’s make it one to remember while supporting a cause that truly matters. Pinterest board inspiration coming soon.

Photography: Random A Photography

Celebrate the spirit of the evening with a striking photograph by Amy Bennett of Random A Photography. Available as part of the Under a Wild Sky offerings, it is a chance to capture a moment of a memorable night while supporting a cause that keeps these landscapes alive. We will offer a unique photo shoot option, along with our usual candid shots throughout the evening. To see some of Amy’s work, visit her website.

Pre-Hikes: Explore behind the scenes at Maytag Ranch

For the first time ever DLC will be offering several guided pre-event hikes across Maytag Ranch, where guests can take in wide-open skies, panoramic views of the area, and learn a bit of the ranch’s history. Our friendly guides will share stories of the land’s history and conservation efforts. The hike concludes at the Under a Wild Sky tent with opportunities to grab a refreshment, sign-up for a personalized photo, and begin making bids on your favorite auction items. Details about each hike will be included in event registration. There is no charge to attend this hike with purchase of a ticket, though space is limited.

Entertainment: Sarah P and the Dirty Logger

Enjoy the warm, authentic sound of country western duo Sarah P and the Dirty Logger as they bring the spirit of the open range to our Under a Wild Sky gala. Their music sets the perfect backdrop for an evening dedicated to protecting the landscapes that inspire it- from wide-open plains to rugged hillsides. Sit back, tap your boots, and let the melodies carry you through a night of community, celebration, and conservation.
