Douglas Land Conservancy has held a Conservation Easement on the historic 1,500 acre Ditmars Ranch since 2020. It is a beautiful, privately-owned ranch in Douglas County, located at the south edge of Castle Rock (immediately north of the JA Ranch and east of I-25). The property is an active cattle ranch, and although it is not open to the public, the ranch owner has agreed–and the Conservation Easement stipulates–that DLC can hold up to four events on the property each year. For more information about the ranch and the Conservation Easement on it, check out this article: Historic 1,500-acre Ditmars Ranch protected in Douglas County – Douglas County.
