Douglas Land Conservancy (DLC) will leave a legacy of forever protecting open space in the communities it serves.
Last week a group of supporters gathered to celebrate that commitment by being honored as part of DLC’s Legacy Circle.
The Legacy Circle program recognizes people who have put DLC in their wills and financial plans. Anyone who informs DLC that the land trust has been named as a benefactor is eligible for membership in the Legacy Circle. Those bequests will allow DLC to maintain its stewardship commitments spelled out in conservation easements far into the future.
The Legacy Circle was formed about five years ago and has grown steadily. It now includes former and current board presidents, former and current board members, DLC’s Executive Director, and dozens of community members dedicated to the future of local land conservation and DLC.
The event last week included a dinner, a game identifying DLC-conserved open spaces, and statements by DLC leadership on the importance of public support for the organization’s mission of preserving and stewarding open spaces along the Front Range.
